Description
Alaska King Salmon
King salmon, also called Chinook salmon, is the largest, yet least abundant, of all salmon species. Because it is the least abundant, it is also higher in price. Its rich meat varies in color from white to a very dark red. Chinook salmon has the highest oil content of all the salmon species. The richness and full flavor of the meat makes the King salmon great for virtually any preparation including baking, grilling, or broiling. And as with any salmon, it is important to not overcook the fish.
