How does the salmon make the trip from Alaska to Tennessee?
The troll and gillnet caught salmon are brought to the shore-based processing plant and packaged, where they are then picked up and shipped to Seattle, WA via a freezer barge. From there, the salmon is loaded into temperature-controlled vans as it makes its way to Nashville, TN. The vans are constantly monitored to maintain a (very cold) temperature until it arrives in Nashville. The seafood is then moved to cold storage where it stays frozen for resale.
